Calligraphy workshop
Japanese calligraphy is more than just beautiful writing—it is an art of special forms & form of expressions one's inner world through strict symbols and elegant lines. During this masterclass, participants will be introduced to the fundamental kanji characters, learn how to breath, hold the brush correctly, and grasp the basics of line harmony. Calligraphy requires concentration and calmness, making it an excellent way to relax, improve focus, and connect with Japan's ancient culture.
Japanese Traditional water colour painting workshop
Japanese painting is the art of conveying emotions and nature through minimalism and delicate brush strokes. Participants in this masterclass will be introduced to the traditional sumi-e technique, which uses ink, a brush, and rice paper. They will learn to capture moods with just one or two strokes and will create images of bamboo, mountains, or birds in flight, gaining insight into the philosophy of Japanese art.
Origami workshop
Origami is the ancient Japanese art of paper folding, embodying the philosophy of harmony, patience, and precision. In this masterclass, participants will learn the basic techniques of folding, from simple forms to intricate models such as the crane—a symbol of happiness and longevity. This activity enhances fine motor skills, stimulates imagination, and teaches the appreciation of beauty in simplicity.
Japanese Calligraphy (Shodō) and Sumi-e Painting Course
This course is a unique journey into the world of traditional Japanese art, designed with an exclusive methodology by Sophiya Gugelev. 10 sessions, participants will master the fundamentals of Japanese calligraphy (shodō), learn to work with brushes and ink, and become familiar with kanji and hiragana phonetic writing. They will also create their own calligraphy works.
At the same time, we will dive into the art of sumi-e, the famous Japanese ink painting technique. The course covers traditional themes and allows participants to create works in the style of classical Japanese masters.
The methodology, developed by Sophiya Gugelev, is based on a deep understanding of Japanese culture, combining traditional techniques with a modern approach to learning. Each session includes theory, practice, and a meditative aspect, helping participants not only to master the technique but also to experience the philosophy of Japanese art, where beauty unfolds through harmony and simplicity.
